Participants focus on signs and icons around them and design pictograms that can be easily understood by anyone. To make pictograms expressing ideas like "crying" and "laughing", children first express those ideas with their own bodies and take photographs. In the process of simplifying photos into drawings, and drawings into pictograms, children learn the fundamentals of designing pictograms.
Then they break up into groups, design a simple story using four pictograms, and neatly draw them on colored paper. Finally they present their creations in quiz format and try to communicate their story to other groups.
First held: 2003/7/12

Capitalizing on our connections with collaborators
and other people who sympathize with CAMP's mission, we are developing
various creativity workshops, without being constrained by digital
and analog frameworks.
We are proactively broadening the scope of our activities, including “on-site
workshops” dispatched from Okawa Center, "group workshops" targeting
children’s societies, etc., and "outside campaigns" in
which CAMP's workshop expertise is offered to museums, science
museums, schools and other institutions.
We also make efforts in developing the Networkshop, a workshop on the
Internet. We are working on creating a community in which children
can build relationships with each other regardless of time and space.
