The world is rapidly evolving into an information technology society.
Due to the explosive spread of the Internet in the past several years,
our lifestyles have become both more convenient and global to a surprising degree.
However, the fact remains that we still face many problems for which solutions are elusive,
problems which cover the environment, energy, world population, and ethnic and religious strifes.
Isao Okawa, the founder of CSK, dreamed of a future society full of hope with the progress of advanced information technologies,
and believed that it would be children, who are not fettered by existing concepts and think freely and creatively,
who would realize that dream. Mr. Okawa took his own initiative to propose and convene the Junior Summit,
where children from all over the world exchange opinions. Mr. Okawa spoke about how he could not forget a young Israeli girl
he encountered participating in the Junior Summi's online forum, who asked over the Internet,
“Why can't Israelis and Arabs get along? Why does God let them fight? What can I do to talk with Arab children?”
This question inspired the CSK Group to begin its efforts toward the development of children who would be the leaders of the 21st century.
The fundamental philosophy of CSK is that “people are everything.” Since we are in the service industry,
our most valuable asset is “people.” The same goes for society at large. So, why not value and develop children,
who will be the main players in the future, in the same way that we develop our own employees? Based on this idea was born a project,
CAMP, in 2001. CAMP, through its workshops, brings out creativity and self-expression in children and nurtures their potential
that opens up new possibilities for the future. We are indebted to many museums, corporations and
research institutions all over the world including the Media Lab of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) for their cooperation.
It is our sincere wish that children will be able to exercise their limitless potential and take the lead in creating an affluent and
sustainable future society. In collaboration with museums, research institutions and corporations all over the world,
and with CAMP at the core of our activities, we will continue to provide assistance in the pursuit of that goal.
Our activities may not produce immediate visible results, but we firmly believe that continuing them over the long term will
lead to significant positive changes in society.
The purpose of CAMP as part of the CSK Group's sustainable efforts to contribute to society.

The Okawa Center in Kansai Science City (Keihanna) is the headquarter for CAMP activities.
Here we plan, develop and carry out creation workshops for children designed to nurture their creativity and communication abilities.
We are expanding our workshops to facilities all over Japan and training facilitators who are key to the workshops.
April 2007 marked the 6th anniversary of the foundation of CAMP. We are indebted to the support we received from many groups and
individuals that has allowed us to continue these activities.
We are facing many changes in today's society: fewer children, increasing nuclear families, and changes in communities.
Although society is becoming more materially wealthy, objectives for the future, on the other hand, have come into question.
Education at schools vacillates in the debate over “more knowledge” or “less pressure.”
The era has arrived when corporations must also bear some responsibility for the development of the children
who will be leaders of the 21st century:
Workshops encouraging cooperation have gained attention as a new style of learning. Participants learn to think independently
but are also able to share their ideas with each other.
The aim of CAMP is to realize a society where children learn skills necessary to exercise their vitality
and develop their potential that open up possibilities for the future.
Many of our group companies already hold CAMP workshops. We, at the CSK Group, believe that our employees
should also contribute further by engaging in volunteering and other activities that help the community as responsible members of society.
In addition to the activities we have developed so far, we plan to use our achievements in workshops and facilitator training in CAMP
as stepping stones to develop and offer programs for human resource training to people in various environments surrounding
children (companies, homes, communities, schools, etc.).
Following the wishes of the late Isao Okawa (founder of CSK), who stated that children would lead the IT society of the future,
it is our sincere hope that through CAMP activities we can come closer to a world where children all over the world will understand,
respect, and coexist peacefully with each other.
