The Okawa Center in Kansai Science City (Keihanna) is the headquarter for CAMP activities.
Here we plan, develop and carry out creation workshops for children designed to nurture their creativity and communication abilities.
We are expanding our workshops to facilities all over Japan and training facilitators who are key to the workshops.
April 2009 marked the 8th anniversary
of the foundation of CAMP. We
are indebted to the support we
received from many groups and individuals that has allowed us to
continue
these activities.
We are facing many changes in today's society: fewer children, increasing nuclear families, and changes in communities.
Although society is becoming more materially wealthy, objectives for the future, on the other hand, have come into question.
Education at schools vacillates in the debate over “more knowledge” or “less pressure.”
The era has arrived when corporations must also bear some responsibility for the development of the children
who will be leaders of the 21st century:
Workshops encouraging cooperation have gained attention as a new style of learning. Participants learn to think independently
but are also able to share their ideas with each other.
The aim of CAMP is to realize a society where children learn skills necessary to exercise their vitality
and develop their potential that open up possibilities for the future.
Many of our group companies already hold CAMP workshops. We, at the CSK Group, believe that our employees
should also contribute further by engaging in volunteering and other activities that help the community as responsible members of society.
In addition to the activities we have developed so far, we plan to use our achievements in workshops and facilitator training in CAMP
as stepping stones to develop and offer programs for human resource training to people in various environments surrounding
children (companies, homes, communities, schools, etc.).
Following the wishes of the late Isao Okawa (founder of CSK), who stated that children would lead the IT society of the future,
it is our sincere hope that through CAMP activities we can come closer to a world where children all over the world will understand,
respect, and coexist peacefully with each other.
